Well, despite Bill being in great form yesterday, he woke up this morning with a high fever and the chills. It seems that he has caught some sort of infection. Although we were hoping to avoid this, the majority of chemo patients end up catching an infection while they are out of the hospital because of how neutropenic they are. At this point, Bill has virtually no immune system, so there is nothing to fight against any infections he encounters.
He came immediately to the Emergency Room with my mom this morning and was admitted into the hospital again. We are still waiting to hear the details of his infection, but he has been started on 2 very strong anti-biotics. His energy is very low and he still has a high fever and his blood pressure is quite low.
I will be in touch with more details as we get them, but for now, please pray that Bill will fight off this infection quickly and get back on his feet again!!
